~ Monsters, Aliens and Anniversarys ~

Friday Olivia and I went to her first movie at the movie theatre! We saw Monsters VS. Aliens. (Hmm...I'm going to have to say I've seen better.) No matter though, we were happy eating tons of popcorn and candy! She even sat through the whole movie which really surprised me! (I prepared for the worst!) But we had tons of fun!! I can't wait to take her to see more!

Yummy candy! And yes, that's a purse full of kitty's! We couldn't leave them behind!

Ohhh...together time!

That night was Lane and I's 6 month anniversary! We sat down to discuss where to go to eat, both of us not wanting to say where we really wanted to go, which was Costa Vida. We were both expecting the other would want to go to a "nicer" restaurant to celebrate. After much discussion and ruling out restaurants we both broke down and admitted that we really just wanted to eat at our favorite place! And to make things even better we had a full Costa Vida card which meant we got to eat for free (we shared a salad) drink too! Couldn't have been more romantic! Ha ha! We loved it and had tons of fun together! We don't need no fancy restaurant to have fun and celebrate our Anniversary!!

Celebrating at Costa Vida!

Free dinner baby!!

~ A Very Merry Unbirthday and More ~

Lane hates making a big deal of his birthday, therefore I love making a HUGE deal of it so Friday we celebrated his 1/2 birthday! Liv and I surprised him at work with balloons, a present and cupcakes for everyone! Lane was definitely surprised! He's never even heard of 1/2 birthdays before! For awhile I even had everyone believing it really was his birthday. He set them straight by producing his license just before everyone started singing Happy Birthday to him! He still wants to kill me!

Happy 1/2 Birthday!!

That night my sister and I went to the midnight release of Twilight, and I'm not ashamed to admit it!! (Well maybe a little! Ha ha!) I really didn't think too many people would be there but it was seriously crowded! You had to get a ticket and then stand in line to receive the director's cut! But I got my copy baby! And Lane and I cuddled up and watched it Saturday night. Ah...the Twilight insanity is back!

Not the director's cut I know, but we held on to these while in line just in case!

Yesterday we kept promising Liv we'd take her to the park without checking the weather report for today. So even though we woke up and it was a cloudy day we couldn't bear to break our promise to her so we packed up a picnic and some blankets and dressed all warm and went to the park anyway! By the time we got there it was raining (at least it wasn't crowded)! We had our picnic at the top of the covered slide and ate with blankets around us and then ventured out to play in the rain! It was actually really fun!! And cold!!

Someday Spring will come!!

~ This is What Happens ~

This is how much toothpaste I like on my toothbrush:

This is how much toothpaste Lane likes on his toothbrush:

This is what happens when your husband tries to be a smart Alec and make fun of how he thinks you like too much toothpaste on your toothbrush and so he puts a HUGE glob on it. So I decided to dispose of the excess on the side of his face. Olivia saw him and giggled and said "Daddy you put your toothpaste on your face! Let me wipe it off!" So I gave her wet toilet paper to use:

Ha ha!! I win!! (I usually do!!) : )

~ Surprise! ~

Last night I was at work late and Lane was home with Olivia. When I returned I was met by an excited 3 year old telling me to cover my eyes cuz she had a surprise for me. I could hear her getting something out of the fridge and then yell "SURPRISE!!" and when I opened my eyes this is what I saw:

Olivia came up with this idea all by herself because she "missed me" and wanted to give me a present when I got home. Now mind you, these are her most beloved kitties! I must admit, it felt warm and fuzzy all over to be awarded some of her most prized possessions, have them "wrapped" in a box and put in the fridge for safe keeping till I got home! What a sweetie!!!

~ Just Some Ramblings ~

Just a quick sickness update:

We took Lane into the doctor at my work on Monday and it turns out he had a very bad case of the flu!! Lane had been lethargic and delirious and shaking with an incredibly high fever! Everyone at my office felt so bad for him because of how sick he was. He was sent home with 4 different prescriptions and told to take it easy! All this and our family even got our flu shots this year!

I got sicker as the week wore on with a milder case of the flu but I didn't get the high fevers just a worse case of congestion and coughing. After juggling around my meds a little, my doctor got me a good combination that started to make me feel better. It's now Friday and we are both doing much, much better. We still tire out easy but it looks like we are on the road to recovery!! And thankfully, other than an ear infection, Liv has not gotten any of our fung... yet. And hopefully she won't!

On a good note, this week Liv's dress-up dresses came in the mail (I ordered them for her birthday but they didn't make it here in time). They are so cute! I ordered them from Hong Kong off of Ebay and they are much better quality than any dress-up clothes I can buy her in the stores here. She loves them and wears them every second of the day that she can!!

~ Belated Valentine's ~

On Valentine's Day I woke up not feeling very well. Lane had a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting downstairs for me and we had a romantic date planned that night. But as I was trying to get ready I could tell I was getting sicker. I showered, then I had to lay on the bed and rest. I blow-dried my hair, then I had to lay on the floor and rest. By the time I got to doing my make-up it was apparent that I was not going to be in Valentine's Day celebration mode that night so Lane gave in and let me be sick and we rescheduled our Valentine's date to this last Friday. It was our 5 month anniversary too so we thought it would be fun to celebrate both.

So my sickness turned into that nasty, coughing cold that everyone has been getting, and since I work in a pediatrician's office it was only a matter of time before I had it too. By that Thursday I also had an ear infection in both of my ears. We spent that weekend at the cabin. I pretty much did nothing and I still felt like I was working too hard! The next week my cough got a little better but the congestion was starting to set in and Olivia was starting to cough. By Thursday morning, she too had an ear infection. That same afternoon I got a text from Lane saying that he wasn't feeling so good-achy and worn out. He came home from work that evening with a temperature of 102!

Friday morning Lane left for work not feeling great but good enough to try to make it through the day. He only made it half way before needing to come home. I was a little disappointed cause this was our date night and we had two things we were going to celebrate! But I also knew how crummy he would feel if we tried to go out so I was ready for another reschedule of events. But lo and behold, by that evening he was feeling pretty good and we went out to celebrate! Lane took me to my favorite restaurant and we reminisced about when we were dating and exchanged our gifts. Lane got me some sweet Roxy shoes to match his DC ones and I got him a necklace to wear. He also got me another beautiful bouquet of daisies (my favorite!).

We barely made it through dinner before Lane's fever returned. Saturday morning we woke and he still wasn't feeling good. His fever persisted all through the night and by the afternoon he also had the stomach flu! (I asked him while he was laying on the floor, miserable and worn out from throwing up, if I could take some pictures of him for our blog. He didn't think that was very funny!! Ha ha!)

Today, we are both still recovering. On a good note though, Liv's ear infection cleared right up! Hopefully there is an end in sight to this extreme madness of sickness! I have decided we should buy stock in Vitamin C!!
Out to dinner! Yummy!!

Lane's necklace!

My new, sweet Roxy shoes!
My beautiful daisies! Thanks honey!!
